Happy (almost) Lunar New Year!! 

I hope you are all staying healthy and staying warm! It has been so chilly here the last little bit. I keep wanting to go out to enjoy the snow, but the low temperatures and the relentlessly icy wind is making it hard to spend much time outside. Since I am insistent in venturing out, I have been working at becoming an expert on layering clothes, but I still only last for so long before I need to get back inside. 

Since I have been stuck inside so much, I have watched a record number of Christmas and comedy movies, have been continuing to plug along on learning Chinese, and have done some painting here and there. I’ve spent a lot of time visiting with loved ones, have been learning new recipes, and have even gotten to spend some time playing video games. I’m in the middle of so many creative projects because I’ve been having too many ideas all at once. I have several different books that I’m in the middle of reading, I’ve been trying to keep up with the things falling apart that keep needing to be fixed, and am trying to relearn what I knew of piano.

I kept feeling disappointed about not getting to go out to find my wild animals, but I didn’t need to be upset at all.  The animals continue to keep coming to me. I have a good amount of birds and squirrels that hang around my feeders, there’s a sweet rabbit who will come around for some late night snacks, some deer who come around here and there to check out the snack option, and even a hawk makes a habit of stopping by to see what it might be able to grab. So I’m still desiring more, but at least it has been enough until I can make it back out more.

Thankfully, the more time outside should be coming sooner than it feels. There were a few birthdays to celebrate so I recently took a trip out to visit my family. Usually during the winter months it is completely dark by the time I head out there or back. This time, that wasn’t the case. I was very pleasantly surprised to see that I actually had light for a good amount of my drive. So I know we’re still in January and have quite a bit before spring actually is here, but it is definitely on it’s way!
