Wow!

You guys, I am so sorry it has been SO long since I’ve posted on here. It started out with getting my yearly load of plants. I figured I would set them up and get back to my usual schedule with posting and chores and everything. I changed my plans.

My sweet grandparents are to the point of their lives where they are sitting bored at home every day. Since I can’t go visit them often, I’m trying to send them different parts of my life to keep them involved. I can’t be out with them because of work and they can’t come to me because they aren’t driving anymore. I started trying to put together sketches and paintings and little “journal” entries and pressed flowers and just anything. This time I’m adding in some word searches. I just want them to know that I’m always thinking of them and “with” them as much as I can be from across the state. I want to do what I can to add a little extra sunshine to their days.

I’ve also been keeping a much busier social schedule than I usually do. I have met so many wonderful people in the last little bit. Never jump to judgements about people and always look to what you can take away from your interaction. I am learning so much and having such a great time getting to know these people and getting the honor to hear about their lives. A lot of my favorite conversations have been very spontaneous and meant putting off what I originally had planned to do (like posting on here and learning how to mountain bike and like going for hikes–well, part of not going for hikes and stuff is the gross humidity we keep getting hit with) but, what I’m trying to say is, it was so much more worth it to push the stuff back to partake in these precious golden moments that life offered up.

We get so busy with life and the thing is, the “life” that we’re so busy with isn’t even LIFE. We are constantly being offered these beautiful, precious, little, golden moments of heaven on earth–sunrises and sunsets, morning coffee with your loved ones, a delightful conversation with your neighbor, the golden sunshine warming your skin while the breeze tickles it, the smell and colors of blooming flowers, getting to watch little animals and children explore the world in absolute naïve wonderment, enjoying a good book or your favorite meal.. make sure you’re making time for the right moments in life. Yes, the work portions of life are important, but what good is it to get to the end of your life and say that’s all you did? Make sure part of your life is living.

I’m hoping I’ll be back to a normal routine soon. I’ve got a couple busy weekends coming up, though, so we’ll see. I hope you are all having a phenomenal summer!

I’ll talk to you soon!

It doesn’t take much to find a little beauty in everything. You paint your life. You create the brushstrokes. Make it magical. Make it beautiful.
